Football Recap: Floresville Wins Going Away Against Highlands

Floresville entered their tilt with Highlands on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Owls with a sharp 40-14 win. That looming 40-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers/Jaguars yet this season.

Drake Coronado was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 154 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 154 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Max Marroquin was another key player, rushing for 48 yards and two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Floresville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Floresville's record is now 3-1. As for Highlands, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
