Lawrence County had won five straight games dating back to last season and Carter Pettigrew did his part to make it six on Friday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Spring Hill Raiders by a score of 21-14 thanks in part to Pettigrew, who rushed for 238 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 107 rushing yards per game.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lawrence County's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Zakyus Everly.

Despite the loss, Spring Hill still got an impressive performance from Lionel Brooks, who rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Brooks is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season.

Lawrence County's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Spring Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lawrence County has already played their next matchup, a 38-22 loss against Columbia Central on the 19th. As for Spring Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-11 win against Maplewood on the 19th.
