Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is GRACE Christian's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

GRACE Christian lost to Calvary Day School back in November of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The GRACE Christian Eagles enjoyed a cozy 54-40 victory over the Calvary Day School Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

GRACE Christian had a senior duo take command as Michael Phillips II dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds and A.J. Gladieux went 8 of 12 on his way to 16 points. Phillips II has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Knight, who posted five points.

Calvary Day School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Calvert, who put up 11 points and five assists. Dane Cassada was another key player, putting up 12 points.

GRACE Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Calvary Day School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

GRACE Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-58 loss against Ravenscroft on the 16th. As for Calvary Day School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-67 win against New Garden Friends on the 17th.
