Basketball Recap: Kettering Comes Up Short

Kettering lost against Notre Dame Prep back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kettering Captains took a 34-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish. While the Captains didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Fighting Irish 11-2 in the first quarter.

Notre Dame Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paula Ceular, who posted four points and four steals. Ceular also put up a block, which washer first of the season. Kaylyn Sowers was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Kettering has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Notre Dame Prep, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Kettering has already played their next game (against Walled Lake Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Notre Dame Prep will head out on the road to square off against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame Prep is facing Farmington at the right time seeing as Farmington is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
