Recap: Thompson Tommies vs. Grafton Spoilers
It was a good run, but the Thompson Tommies unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Thursday. They fell 72-60 to Grafton. Thompson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grafton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March.
Thompson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drew Overby, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The match was Overby's third in a row with at least ten points. Drew Odenbach was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Thompson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Grafton, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Thompson will be staying on the road on December 29th to face off against Des Lacs-Burlington at 8:00 p.m. on December 29th. Des Lacs-Burlington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Thompson likes a good challenge. Grafton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 5:45 a.m. on January 4, 2024.
