Basketball Recap: Olivia Escamilla's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Toppenish over King's

On Saturday, the Toppenish Wildcats came up short against the King's Knights and fell 48-41. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Toppenish lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Olivia Escamilla, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewelisa Landa, who put up seven points.

Toppenish's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for King's, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toppenish will square off against Prosser at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Toppenish is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season. King's has already played their next matchup (against Shorecrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
