Softball Recap: Victor Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Victor was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of the Brighton Bruins by a score of 3-2. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Maddie LaRiccia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Victor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Ferraraccio, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases were Ferraraccio's first of the season.

Victor's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Brighton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

While Victor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
