Baseball Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Dadeville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lee-Scott Academy). They blew past the Dadeville Tigers 17-6 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Lee-Scott Academy got a great performance from Braden Martin as he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. What's more, Martin gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since March 1st.

On the hitting side, Barrett Cook was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Hammer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lee-Scott Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Dadeville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Lee-Scott Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Dadeville: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
