Football Recap: Maverick Declark's Menacing Defense Leads Villa Park over Westlake + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Villa Park rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 28-24 victory over the Westlake Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Villa Park's defense and their 6.5 sacks. Maverick Declark was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 3.5 himself.

Westlake lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ford Green, who threw for 236 yards and three TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Charles Davis was in the mix too, providing Westlake with two touchdowns.

Villa Park now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Westlake, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Villa Park didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 30-6 win against Great Oak on the 14th. Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
