Soccer Game Preview: Vidor vs. Little Cypress-Mauriceville

The Vidor Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, Vidor came up short against Silsbee and fell 3-1.

Vidor's goal came courtesy of Braiden Ramos, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Lumberton.

Vidor's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Vidor was able to grind out a solid win over Little Cypress-Mauriceville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vidor since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
