Cameron hasn't had much luck against Notre Dame recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Dragons will challenge the Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m.
Cameron lost 3-0 to St. Marys on Monday.
Cameron was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring zero points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Valley 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Fighting Irish have posted since October 6th.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Notre Dame got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 14-25, 25-20, 15-25, 17-15.
Notre Dame's win came from a few key players Cameron will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sophie Gum, who had 34 digs, 11 kills, ten aces, and seven blocks. Those ten aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Piper Fryer, who had 42 digs and four aces.
Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 9-19. As for Cameron, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Cameron was able to grind out a solid victory over Notre Dame when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Fighting Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
