Salem is 2-8 against Breese Central since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Salem is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Salem's last matchup with Belleville East could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost 15-4 to the Lancers. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Salem saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keaton Gullion, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Breese Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Salem 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Breese Central pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
