The Brea Olinda Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Sunny Hills Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brea Olinda is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
Brea Olinda will head into Friday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 41) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over Esperanza. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Aztecs since January 25, 2022.

Brea Olinda can attribute much of their success to Elijah Sanchez, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 17 points and three steals, and Carson Tracey, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave Sanchez a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Chamberlain, who posted six points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Sunny Hills beat El Modena 57-51 on Friday. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Vanguards are ranked 951st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sunny Hills' win came from a few key players Brea Olinda will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Raeden Bobadilla, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamron Tonga, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven boards.
Sunny Hills is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Brea Olinda, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Brea Olinda has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sunny Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Brea Olinda beat Sunny Hills 48-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Will Brea Olinda repeat their success, or does Sunny Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
