Basketball Recap: Newman Grove/St. Edward Comes Up Short

Newman Grove/St. Edward played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Nebraska Christian Eagles 61-20. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-13.

Newman Grove/St. Edward's loss came despite strong showings from Kailey Patzel and Aubree Whitaker. Patzel posted seven points and nine rebounds, while Whitaker earned no points.

This is the second loss in a row for Newman Grove/St. Edward and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Nebraska Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers take on the Palmer Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. As for Nebraska Christian, they will head out to square off against Archangels Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
