Softball Recap: Murray Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Murray barely beat Community Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Warriors 13-3 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

MacKenzie Toliver was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teegan Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Mayla Smith was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Murray's record is now 8-22. As for Community Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Murray will take on Calloway County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
