Basketball Game Preview: Pilot Rock Rockets vs. Nixyaawii Community Eagles

Pilot Rock is 0-10 against Nixyaawii Community since December of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pilot Rock Rockets will welcome the Nixyaawii Community Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Pilot Rock is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since January 3rd on Friday. They blew past Griswold 61-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Nixyaawii Community had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.4 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They breezed by the Panthers to the tune of 80-30. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Panthers are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nixyaawii Community has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for Pilot Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
