Baseball Recap: Galesburg Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Galesburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Pontiac Indians on Friday as they made off with a 9-3 win. The Silver Streaks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Henry Ikrami looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Nico Ojeda was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Galesburg's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 12-19 when he doesn't).

Galesburg's victory bumped their record up to 15-19. As for Pontiac, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Coincidentally, Galesburg and Pontiac will both be playing Bloomington the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Purple Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Silver Streaks will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
