Soccer Game Preview: Anacortes vs. Lynden

Anacortes is 1-9 against Lynden since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Seahawks will take on the Lions at 12:00 p.m. Anacortes' last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Anacortes' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Ferndale 1-0. Anacortes wouldn't have won without Elliot Davis, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Lynden was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Mount Vernon could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Anacortes pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. With that draw, Lynden's record moves to 10-0-1.

Anacortes came up short against Lynden when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
