Soccer Game Preview: Eastlake vs. Jackson

The Eastlake Wolves will head out to challenge the Jackson Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Eastlake beats Jackson with four goals on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Wolves put the hurt on Skyline with a sharp 4-1 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Eastlake in their matchups with Skyline: they've now won three in a row.

Eastlake hit Skyline with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bruno Perversi (2), Dhruv Avadhanam, and Elijah Puente-Marrero.

Meanwhile, Jackson entered their tilt with Arlington on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over the Eagles. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Arlington are ranked 223rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastlake's victory bumped their record up to 9-5-2. As for Jackson, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.

Eastlake might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Jackson in their previous meeting back in May of 2019. Can Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
