Softball Recap: Cheney's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cheney extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 4-0 in the process. They put the hurt on the Medicine Lodge Indians with a sharp 21-12 win. The Cardinals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kendyll Walker was incredible, going 5-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Macey Batt, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cheney was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .477. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

As for Medicine Lodge, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5. Even if they couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

On Medicine Lodge's side, they got a massive performance out of Maryn Inslee, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Emery Shinliver was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cheney beat Medicine Lodge by a score of 18-2 later that day.
