Flag Football Recap: Torrey Pines Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

There's no place like home for Torrey Pines, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 34-24 victory over the Desert Vista Thunder on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their 12-point performance the matchup before.

Izzie Dieter had an outrageously good game as she threw for 349 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of her passes. That's the most passing touchdowns she has posted since back in August. Torrey Pines also got help from Alexa Avila, who showed off her sure hands for 108 receiving yards.

Torrey Pines didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Makaela Sykes and Reagan Cullivan. Torrey Pines got some further help from Kyla Crist: she made 12 total tackles and defended one pass.

Despite the loss, Desert Vista still got an impressive performance from Jackie Jimenez, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 170 yards and one TD.

Torrey Pines has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Desert Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Torrey Pines didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-18 win against Carlsbad on the 22nd. As for Desert Vista, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-0 victory against Desert Ridge on the 23rd.
