Basketball Game Preview: Port Washington Pirates vs. Slinger Owls

The Port Washington Pirates will take on the Slinger Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Port Washington didn't have too much trouble with West Bend East as they won 78-62. The game marked the Pirates' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Slinger came tearing into Thursday's matchup with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Orioles, posting an 88-51 victory. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Slinger pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.5 points per game. As for Port Washington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
