Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Germantown's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Germantown won the last time they faced Pisgah and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mavericks walked away with a 7-4 win over the Dragons.

Germantown got a great performance from Mackenzie Donnell as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. Donnell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julia Glasgow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Maggie Lindley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Germantown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Pisgah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Germantown will challenge Starkville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.68 runs per game on average), something the Mavericks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pisgah, they will face off against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
