Baseball Game Preview: Sioux Central Rebels vs. Northwest Webster Cougars

Sioux Central is a perfect 10-0 against Northwest Webster since June of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Sioux Central has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sioux Central came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Okoboji, falling 13-4. The Rebels have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Northwest Webster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of South Central Calhoun.

Northwest Webster's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Sioux Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Sioux Central beat Northwest Webster 7-2 in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
