Basketball Recap: Taylor Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Indianapolis Northwest W over HEA Firebirds Homeschool

Indianapolis Northwest W has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-45 defeat to HEA Firebirds HomeSchool.

Indianapolis Northwest W lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taylor Smith, who posted 11 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Bowers, who earned eight points along with six boards and three blocks.

Indianapolis Northwest W's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for HEA Firebirds HomeSchool, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Northside L the next time they take the court. HEA Firebirds HomeSchool will head out to face Northside L at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Indianapolis Northwest W will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th.
