Softball Recap: Plainfield Quakers vs. Danville Warriors
Plainfield strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Danville Warriors as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Quakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.
Kami Arnett made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Maci Hanlin was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzi Arnett, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Plainfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted an OBP of .167.
Plainfield pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Plainfield has already played their next contest, a 9-3 win against Franklin Community on the 8th. As for Danville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-6 defeat against Lawrence North on the 8th.
