Basketball Recap: King Takes a Loss

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Flour Bluff Hornets 62-28. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 970th, while the Hornets are ranked 92nd).

Despite the loss, King still got an impressive performance from Kamila Hernandez, who posted seven points.

King's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Flour Bluff, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

King will be playing at home against Gregory-Portland at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flour Bluff, they will head out to face off against Corpus Christi Moody at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Corpus Christi Moody will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Flour Bluff surely won't give up without a fight.
