Elmwood-Murdock picks up 19th straight win at home

Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Cornerstone Christian School Cougars

The Elmwood-Murdock Knights came tearing into Saturday's contest with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 60-19 win over Cornerstone Christian School. Elmwood-Murdock has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Tatum Backemeyer was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Elmwood-Murdock's points. Brooklyn Mans was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.

Elmwood-Murdock pushed their record up to 21-1 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Elmwood-Murdock will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Louisville at 5:30 p.m. Elmwood-Murdock is facing Louisville at the right time seeing as Louisville is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Cornerstone Christian School, they will square off against Brownell Talbot at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brownell Talbot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
