Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Panthers vs. New London Whalers
While Plainfield's victory against New London wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Whalers on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Whalers: they've now won eight in a row.
Plainfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-6.

Plainfield had a senior duo take command as Paige Sears had four aces and one block and Shae Valentin had 30 digs and six aces. Sears also set a new season-high mark in assists with 40.
Plainfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive matches.
