Basketball Game Preview: James Monroe Mavericks vs. Wyoming East Warriors

The James Monroe Mavericks will head out on the road to challenge the Wyoming East Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. James Monroe is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 15 games.

James Monroe will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Summers County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. James Monroe enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over Summers County on Friday.

Maggie Boroski was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 steals. Those 13 steals gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Dunlap, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Wyoming East faced Logan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Wyoming East fell to Logan 47-43.

James Monroe's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Wyoming East, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

James Monroe didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wyoming East in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Monroe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
