Baseball Recap: Simsboro Takes a Loss

If Simsboro was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Plain Dealing last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Simsboro Tigers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Doyline Panthers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Simsboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maximus Lee, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Chris Stevens also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Simsboro now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Doyline, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Simsboro will host Union Parish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Doyline, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers duke it out with the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
