Softball Recap: Hutto Takes a Loss

After flying high against Manor last Tuesday, Hutto came back down to earth. The Hutto Hippos fell just short of the Cedar Ridge Raiders by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hippos in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost five in a row.

Riley DeRoulac was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Price, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Hutto's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cedar Ridge, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hutto will challenge Vandegrift at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cedar Ridge, they will square off against Round Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
