Recap: Antelope Rams vs. North Valley Christian Academy Lions
After a string of three wins, the Antelope Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 72-58 bruising from North Valley Christian Academy. Antelope has not had much luck with North Valley Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenan Ragels, who scored 17 points. Ragels is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alizay Figueroa, who scored 15 points.
North Valley Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bobby Rodriguez led the charge by scoring 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jethro Maerina, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Antelope's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Antelope will be playing in front of their home fans against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against The Gregory School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Gregory School is on a five-game streak of home wins, North Valley Christian Academy a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
