Baseball Recap: Waccamaw Gets the Win

While Waccamaw's victory against Loris wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors came out on top against the Lions on Monday by a score of 7-6 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Tyson Strickland tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Nathaniel Mabus was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Corrin Green, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Waccamaw's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Loris, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Waccamaw will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
