Basketball Recap: Banner Christian Comes Up Short

Banner Christian was the 61-38 winner over Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Banner Christian took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights on Tuesday.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot found their leader in freshman Emanuel Wright, who went 9 of 15 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hamner, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Banner Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Banner Christian will challenge Brunswick Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has already played their next matchup (against Fredericksburg V), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
