Basketball Recap: Hoosac Valley Takes a Loss

Hoosac Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Granby Rams. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Hoosac Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tre Moynihan posted 25 points. Moynihan's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Hoosac Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Granby, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Hoosac Valley will challenge Belchertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granby, they will face off against Monument Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monument Mountain will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Granby surely won't give up without a fight.
