Softball Recap: Flat Rock Rams vs. Carlson Marauders
Flat Rock entered their tilt with Carlson with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Carlson Marauders onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Flat Rock also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Not much got past Ryen Clair, who gave up just four hits to keep Carlson off the board. Clair has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Flat Rock's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emma Neace, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, a stolen base, and two RBI.
Even though they lost, Carlson didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with seven strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flat Rock only tossed three.
Flat Rock's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Carlson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.
