Football Game Preview: Southwest Eagles vs. American Patriots

The Southwest Eagles are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the American Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Southwest nor American posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Southwest is leaving town to face American after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Southwest fell 13-0 to Central on Thursday.

Meanwhile, American fought the good fight in their overtime game against Reagan on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Bison were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 13-12 loss.

Southwest didn't have too much breathing room in their match against American in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 6-0 victory.
