Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Eastern

Eastern had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southern Tornadoes on Saturday, sneaking past 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Eastern had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 15-10.

Emeri Lloyd had a dynamite game, getting 36 digs and three aces. Those 36 digs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Thomas, who had 13 digs.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Southern, their defeat ended a 16-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 20-3.

Coming up, Eastern will face off against Tuscarawas Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
