Softball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bluffton Tigers by a score of 6-4 on Friday. Patriots fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Tigers since on Friday.

Abriyah James was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Avi Washington was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Heritage and nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for Bluffton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Heritage will square off against Whitko at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Bluffton, they will take on New Haven at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
