Softball Game Preview: Metropolitan vs. Edison

Metropolitan and Edison, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Metropolitan will be strutting in after a win while Edison will be coming in after a defeat.

Metropolitan not only won last Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2025 (when they won 31-5). They put the hurt on Townsend Harris with a sharp 17-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Metropolitan considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Edison fell victim to Jamaica and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They lost 15-0 to the Beavers. The loss continues a trend for Edison in their meetings with Jamaica: they've now lost eight in a row.

Edison now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Metropolitan, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Everything went Metropolitan's way against Edison in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Metropolitan made off with a 21-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Metropolitan since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
