Baseball Game Preview: Richfield Wildcats vs. Hurricane Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Richfield Wildcats challenge Hurricane Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Richfield has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Richfield is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They lost 13-2 to Desert Hills.

Fisher Jenson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jack Albrecht also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Hurricane was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against Centennial, falling 11-1.

Hurricane saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Staley, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Richfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hurricane, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Richfield beat Hurricane 9-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richfield since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
