Softball Game Preview: Elba Tigers vs. Red Level Tigers

Elba will square off against Red Level at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Elba fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against McKenzie on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of McKenzie.

Lady Stinson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Payton Parks was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Red Level waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Samson. The result was nothing new for Red Level, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Emmie Snider made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Snider was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amaya Williams, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Caroline Blackwell, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Red Level kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Elba has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Red Level, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
