Football Recap: Frontier's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Frontier came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 41-20 margin over the Highland Scots. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Scots are ranked 436th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frontier to victory, but perhaps none more so than Talen Mather, who rushed for 133 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. With that strong performance, Mather is now averaging an impressive 101.9 rushing yards per game. Another signal caller making a difference was Brady Campbell, who threw for 321 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Frontier's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Josh Miller was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14. Another thorn in Highland's side was Lj Riley, who made 11 total tackles (6.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Highland lost, don't look at Randy Davenport Jr.. Despite the final result, he picked up 145 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 38 yards. Davenport Jr. really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

Frontier now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Highland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Frontier has already played their next game, a 15-14 win against Centennial on the 30th. As for Highland, they will take on Ridgeview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Scots will be up against the Wolf Pack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.22 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
