Flag Football Recap: Thornton's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Thornton never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They took down the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans 19-0. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Thornton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Olivia Mateo, London Lor, and Dayanis Holguin picked up one apiece. Holguin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Thornton back to even at 6-6. As for Aurora West College Prep Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Thornton will square off against rival Mountain View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Trojans 13.5, the Mountain Lions 10.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Aurora West College Prep Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Eagle Ridge Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
