Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood Triumphs

Ridgewood posted their closest victory since September 23rd on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Aurora East Tomcats 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Tomcats: they've now won three in a row.

Ridgewood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Natalia Sibiga was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 20 assists and six digs. Those 20 assists gave her a new career-high. Victoria Gawedzki was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

Ridgewood's record now sits at 22-6. As for Aurora East, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-29.

Ridgewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Leyden on the 23rd. As for Aurora East, they will take on Joliet Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
