Softball Recap: Checotah Wildcats vs. Gore Pirates
Checotah waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Gore Pirates onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Kami Hamm was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Checotah pushed their record up to 16-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Gore, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Checotah will face off against Sallisaw at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Checotah is facing Sallisaw at the right time seeing as Sallisaw is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gore, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Keys at 11:30 a.m. Gore will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Keys will have lost six straight heading into Saturday's game.
