Volleyball Recap: Basha's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Basha had lost five straight, but after bumping their record up to 8-11 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arizona College Prep Knights, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since March 24th.

Noah Lee paced Basha's offense, picking up 13 kills. Lee got some help from Aiden Pham and his 14 assists.

As for Arizona College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 15-4 ALA - Queen Creek (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.5% over those games).

Cooper Aron and Zakaria Ayoub certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Aron had 12 digs and one block, while Ayoub had 12 digs and one assist. Aron is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Knox Rabo also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Basha has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against ALA - Queen Creek on the 4th. As for Arizona College Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Seton Catholic on the 8th.
