Softball Preview: Lennard Longhorns vs. Blake Yellow Jackets
The Lennard Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Blake Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lennard has four straight wins, Blake has 22 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lennard put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over Spoto. 15 seems to be a good number for Lennard as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Mikaila Rodgers was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brianna Nelson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Blake was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 11-1 walloping at the hands of Tampa Bay Tech.
Lennard's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Blake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
