Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside easily dispatched Scranton last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Vikings fell just short of the Pittston Patriots by a score of 9-7 on Saturday.

Kyleah Edwards was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Chilek, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pittston, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Riverside and Pittston will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings are set to square off against their familiar foe Western Wayne at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pittston will challenge rival Wyoming Valley West at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
